About Job:

As a Category Buyer, you will oversee sourcing activities for customer locations, managing the total cost of procurement, including price, quality, delivery, and acquisition. Your role involves sourcing chemicals using uniform methods, negotiating prices, and ensuring responsive interactions with purchasing management and site personnel. You will handle product inquiries, supplier issues, and material problems to maintain high customer satisfaction. Additionally, you'll prepare reports, collect data on commodity trends, and support team-building and departmental objectives.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Manages the sourcing activities for customer locations. This includes managing total ?cost of procurement- inclusive of price, quality, delivery, and acquisition. Source current and new chemicals using approved uniform methods, negotiate prices for discrete orders.
  • Support Purchasing management and site personnel to ensure responsive interaction; process all product inquiries, supplier problems, and material problems to ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction consistently.
  • Prepare management and customer requested reports; facilitate data collection on commodity trends, new products, new environmental policies, etc.
  • Encourage and participate in department ?team? building and the achievement of Henkel customer team and department objectives.


Your Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or related experience.
  • Two years purchasing, planning, or inventory control experience; supporting manufacturing preferred
  • Excellent supplier negotiating skills.
  • Excellent math, spreadsheet, cost and price analysis skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with chemical based products in a manufacturing or equivalent environment preferred.
