Basic Duties:

  • Schedules orders based on system data to ensure products are available to support sales schedules and comply with departmental goals.
  • Prepares and communicates: With the supplier, information on expediting requirements, and open order reports and backorder reports to ensure supplier will comply with delivery commitments.
  • Maintains complete and accurate files.
  • Performs standard material planning operation functions (including company-wide fulfillment for product groups within purview).
  • Identifies and communicates supply constraints with possible solutions.
  • Manages pipe shop workload and issues work orders based on customer requirements.
  • Performs special projects as required.
  • Performs demand driver/forecasting maintenance.
  • Drives efficiency practices and optimizes current practices.


Desired Experience/Skills:

  • Satisfactory working knowledge of enterprise requirements planning systems.
  • Satisfactory skill level in word processing and spreadsheet preparation.
  • Purchasing experience a plus; satisfactory education or Puget Sound Pipe experience may substitute.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP system is desirable.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication skills.
